About Oddsworks
A small project born of frustration with the existing options.
Oddsworks exists because the calculators most punters reach for first are either buried inside a bookmaker's funnel or offered by affiliate sites so hungry for sign-up commissions that the arithmetic is the least of their concerns. The sums involved are not difficult; the presentation, however, has been persistently botched.
Every tool on this site has been written from first principles and checked against worked examples from the major UK bookmakers' rules (Tattersalls Rule 4(c), standard dead-heat rules, and the usual each-way place fractions). If you find a discrepancy, it is a bug and I would like to know about it.
No sign-up, no newsletter, no tipping service. The site is supported by display advertising only, which runs to one or two banners per page and is not collected in any grotesque quantity. If you block ads, the calculators still work.
The author
The site is built and maintained by a long-standing student of British and Irish racing with a particular interest in form analysis, speed figures, and the reading of markets. Decades of backing horses, both well and badly, are compressed into the notes under each calculator. Take them or leave them.
Corrections and contact
Email: hello@oddsworks.co.uk — bug reports, corrections to the arithmetic and suggestions for additional calculators are all welcome. Requests for tips are not.
